DESCRIPTION
OF WORKING OF LINE-INTERACTIVE.
This
type of UPS is an advanced version of the off-line UPS system.
In Line-Interactive UPS the Inverter is not in picture continuously
and only comes on in case of power failure.
Under normal condition (Mains ON), the raw power is fed to the load through
a Automatic Voltage regulator (AVR) and a surge suppressor. In case of Power
Failure, the battery takes over supplying power through the inverter.
The Line-Interactive UPS is capable of providing protection against 5 of
the 9 common power problems, i.e. Power Outage, Power Sags, Power Surges,
Brownout and Spikes. (Refer to WHY UPS section for details). There is no
protection available against Harmonic Distortion, Frequency Variation, Line
Noise and Switching Transients.
